The Program

Not a pitch competition.
A structured innovation exchange.

The Corporate Innovation Program begins with your enterprise. We collect specific, real problem statements from your innovation, procurement, and technology teams — challenges that require external expertise, emerging technology, or global perspective to solve.

Startup Runway then maps those problem statements to its curated pipeline of vetted international startups — companies already operating in the US market through the Richardson IQ® campus, or actively in the process of landing. The result is a structured session where startups pitch solutions to your actual challenges, not generic capabilities.

All programs are conducted in collaboration with the City of Richardson, Texas, leveraging the city's position as the International Business Capital of North Texas and its direct relationships with the enterprise community at Richardson IQ®.

Process

How the program works

01

Problem Statement Collection

We work with your innovation, procurement, and technology teams to document specific, actionable challenges — not vague innovation goals. Each problem statement is scoped for a 90-day pilot engagement.

02

Startup Matching

Startup Runway maps your problem statements to its curated pipeline of vetted international companies — filtering by sector, technology readiness, and US market status. Only qualified matches are invited.

03

Reverse Pitch Session

A structured half-day or full-day session at Richardson IQ® — your enterprise presents the challenge, matched startups present their solutions. Facilitated by Startup Runway in collaboration with the City of Richardson.

04

Pilot Engagement

Selected startups move into a structured 90-day pilot with your team. Startup Runway provides ongoing facilitation, milestone tracking, and escalation support to ensure the engagement delivers measurable outcomes.

Program Formats

Two formats.
One outcome: real traction.

Reverse Pitch Session

You define the problem.
Startups compete to solve it.

A focused half-day event where your enterprise presents 3–5 real innovation challenges to a curated group of 8–12 vetted startups. Each startup pitches their solution directly to your team. You select the ones worth piloting.

Half-day structured format (4 hours)
8–12 pre-vetted startups per session

Corporate Innovation Program

A sustained innovation
engagement — not a one-day event.

A structured 90–180 day program where Startup Runway embeds an innovation pipeline directly into your enterprise. Problem statements are continuously collected, startups are continuously matched, and pilot engagements are tracked through to measurable outcomes.

The Problem

Innovation programs that cost millions
and deliver nothing.

Accelerator programs that go nowhere

Most corporate accelerators produce demo days, not deployments. Startups pitch, enterprises applaud, and nothing gets procured. Your team spent 6 months on a program that generated zero pilots.

RFP processes that take 18 months

By the time procurement approves a startup vendor, the technology has changed, the startup has pivoted, or the problem you were solving no longer exists. Speed matters in innovation.

Innovation theater, not innovation

Hackathons, innovation labs, and startup showcases are designed to look like innovation. They generate press releases, not revenue. Your competitors are moving faster.

What actually works

Real innovation happens when enterprises define specific problems and startups compete to solve them — with a structured path from pitch to pilot to procurement. That is the Startup Runway model.

Risk Mitigation

We remove the risk
from working with startups.

The most common reason enterprises don't engage startups is risk — legal, operational, reputational. Startup Runway's model is designed to eliminate those barriers.

Pre-vetted startups only

Every startup in the Startup Runway pipeline has been screened for US market readiness, legal standing, and technical credibility. You never meet an unvetted company.

Government co-facilitation

All programs are conducted in collaboration with the City of Richardson, Texas — providing institutional legitimacy, neutral facilitation, and a government-backed framework for enterprise engagement.

No long-term commitment

Start with a single Reverse Pitch Session. No multi-year contract, no retainer, no minimum spend. Evaluate the model before committing to a full Corporate Innovation Program.

Structured pilot framework

Pilots follow a documented 90-day framework with defined milestones, success criteria, and exit conditions. Your legal and procurement teams know exactly what they are approving.

Confidentiality by default

Problem statements, session participants, and pilot details are treated as confidential. Startup Runway does not publish enterprise partner names without explicit written consent.

Free initial engagement

For qualifying enterprises, the first Reverse Pitch Session is conducted at no cost. This allows your team to evaluate the model, the quality of startups, and the facilitation process before any financial commitment.

Executive Sponsor Pathway

Designed for
innovation leaders.

The Corporate Innovation Program is structured for engagement at the VP, SVP, or C-suite level. Startup Runway works directly with your executive sponsor to define success criteria, secure internal alignment, and ensure the program delivers outcomes that matter to your leadership team — not just your innovation department.

Your executive sponsor receives a quarterly impact report, direct access to the Startup Runway leadership team, and an invitation to the annual Startup Runway Global Summit — connecting you with government officials, university leaders, and enterprise peers from across the network.
